A few years back while I was an under-staffed Superintendent on a Multi-family gig I quickly discovered the value of expressing myself visually, rather then verbally, with drawings created in a CAD program. As a result the guys were producing exactly what I needed with no misunderstandings and everybody was a Superstar. We were going home happy and excited about returning the next day. Productivity was through the roof and success had made us a team.
Governing a crew with CAD drawings had been profitable; but, that is just the tip of the iceberg. With the proper picture you can speak a thousand heart-struck words without ever opening your mouth.
